Are signers required to provide their home address to Notaries?

I was asked to notarize a document, but the signer’s ID doesn’t have an address. When I asked for his address, he wanted to give me a PO Box. He did not want to use his home address when it comes to mail, etc. for the business. Can I still notarize his documents? — A.J., Florida
Yes. The requirement for acceptable ID in Florida for a notarial act does not require a current physical address.
For information on ID requirements in other states, please see our article “Notary guidelines for accepting or rejecting a signer's ID.”
